Useful Toys for your Pooch
Here are some durable and useful toys that will last with your dog. All toys here are tried and tested by us and we are not affiliated with any company in particular.
Too often, owners buy toys based on what they think a dog will enjoy or because of what shopkeepers recommend. Hopefully, this list will help owners make wise and informed decisions.
Also, all dogs have different ways of playing, so dogs like to tear apart and destroy things, some dogs will only go as far as to nibble, so the durability here is only a general gauge. Do spend your money wisely on what will be the best toys for your dogs!

The Classic Kong
The trick is to start teaching your dog to use this by making the food fall out really easily first. Get your dog addicted to it before you start making it harder. All time favorite!
Level 1: Kibbles. Or small dry treats.
Level 5: Cheese, peanut butter, etc spread inside.
Level 10: Layers of cheese, canned food, mashed banana,etc frozen in the freezer. Yum!
Ball Launchers
For the retrieving dog whose owner's arms are falling off from throwing that ball.
Flying Squirrel or Frisbees
Any cheap frisbee will do. Tthe flying squirrel is flexible, so may be easier to pack. If not my dog goes crazy after the $30 frisbee as eagerly as the free barbie frisbee I got from an event.
Nylabones
Very sturdy and durable, for the crazy chewers!
Tug-a-jug
Very fun puzzle game for the dog which involves food again. Watch them go crazy getting the food out. Again, because this toy requires food, there is no need to maintain interest in it and the puppy is rewarded by the toy for playing with the toy.

Tug Toys
Durable and hardy tug toys, what more can your dog ask for?
Tennis Balls
The good old tennis ball must rank pretty high in a dog's brain. The good thing about it? Cheap and plentiful!
Floating Toys
For the avid swimmer, floating toys are a must. Or else what will your dog rescue in the open sea?
Soft Toys
Not for dogs with destructive chewing tendencies, but there are plenty of dogs who will treat their soft toys nicely without any murderous intent. My dog? I once pulled a decapitated stuffed tiger out of her behind!
Squeaky Toys
Sturdy squeakies are fun for dogs to play with when you are not trying to sleep! If your dog is an avid chewer, avoid those filmsy ones shaped like hotdogs or hamburgers - your dog could tear it apart and swallow the squeak inside.
