About Puppylove
Puppylove was started in 2001 by our founder, Angie Tan, the first professional dog trainer and instructor outside North America.
Puppylove is the leading pioneer in Singapore for the exclusive use of reward-based techniques to instruct dog owners.
The company initially began life as an online store offering dog toys and accessories that had yet to find its way into the local pet shops. However, a passion for dogs led our founder, Angie Tan, to wonder why these crazy canines did the crazy things they do. In the search for answers, she discovered an alternative motivational technique based on scientific laws of animal learning that emphasized positive reinforcement, a philosophy not widely practiced in this part of the world at that time.
Puppylove believes Singaporeans have started to view their dogs as important members of the household; and owners are no longer willing to put them through traditional compulsion-style methods in which dogs are forced to submit, and in some cases where their spirit is broken. More dog lovers are seeking effective and humane alternatives of communicating with their furry family members in a manner that enhances their relationship - bringing it to a higher level.
We believe we are offering an enlightened way to train dogs in Singapore – a way focused on shaping a dog’s behaviour through non-violent motivational means. Our techniques do not require jerks, compulsion, harsh correction or physical punishment.
Puppylove believes that those who teach should never cease to learn. Thus, we travel the world to bring the latest scientific thinking in the field of dog training to Singapore through continuing education with world-renowned practitioners of positive reinforcement.
